- What does generic mean?
- According to the FDA, A generic drug is a copy that is the same as a brand-name drug in dosage, safety, strength, how it is taken, quality, performance and intended use. The FDA requires generic drugs to have the same quality, strength, purity and stability as brand-name drugs, but they may include different INACTIVE ingredients like fillers and binders. Generic drugs are less expensive because generic manufacturers don't have the investment costs of the developer of a new drug (patent protection, research, development, marketing, and promotion).

How Taken
Use Cefaclor as directed by your doctor. Take Cefaclor with or without a meal. Chew the tablet thoroughly before swallowing. Cefaclor works best if it is taken at the same time each day. To clear up your infection completely, continue using Cefaclor for the full course of treatment, even if you feel better in a few days.
